At A Place To Be Heard, we believe that most of us would probably agree that we can benefit from help and support at times in dealing with the difficulties that sometimes come with life. The issues or difficulties we deal with in life are sometimes related to our development and early relationships, sometimes related to greater environmental and social factors, sometimes related to our biology, and often are some combination of a variety of these factors.
We work with children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as parents and families and older adults, who have reached a stumbling block in developing, are being confronted by challenges in life, or who feel stuck in some way by internal distress, in ways that may manifest through a variety of symptoms or mental health issues (or disorders).
At A Place To Be Heard, we use methods supported by evidence, from talk therapy, to Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and family systems, guided by who you are, where you are, and what may be needed.
Alice and I are trained and like to work with people of all ages, genders, races, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. Alice works often with parents and families. I, Josh, work often with children, adolescents, and young adults.
